A vacuum cleaner had never crossed my mind that it would transform my cleaning routine. I used to have a scheme of cleaning every weekend. Dust, crumbs, pet hair, they were mounting up, even quicker than I could clear.
We tried schedules. We attempted to partition rooms by days. Nevertheless, someone was constantly reminding me that “the floor should be vacuumed”.
Then we brought home the KRAPOF® Robotic Vacuum Cleaner. And everything shifted.
It is not an elegant review or advertisement of a product. It is an account of how our cleaning habit has actually evolved, not in one day, but by week.
The Start: Cleaning as a Burden
Cleaning used to be a matter that required me to interrupt whatever I was doing before the robot. Homework, cooking, even calls, all of them were interrupted by cleaning.
I’d pull out the stick vacuum. Drag it around corners. Observe the rope going round the legs. Whenever I was done, I would end up with dust at the spot I had cleaned. The process of it seemed wearying and interminable.
A Little Help Arrives
The first day was simple. I undid it, charged it, and hit start. It made a beep and started to move. It skidded over levels and slapped under chairs. The KRAPOF® robot vacuum passed over little thresholds without difficulty. It seemed like a minor victory when it came back to its dock on its own.
Time Saved, Really Saved
Sundays were vacuuming days prior to the robot. Now they don’t. I also do not block 30 minutes because I allow it to run on the other days. It silently works in the background, be it in the morning or in the evening. Floors stay cleaner. Dust builds up less.
I was able to save time that I would spend cleaning. The first was the first actual change.
A Routine That Fits Real Life
We had a few practices around it. I set a schedule. It operates in the early morning when the breakfast crumbs are fresh. It repeats itself towards the end of the afternoon, following the dog walks. The robot does not need any supervision.
When a chair is a little misplaced, then it changes. When it collides with a toy, it moves about. I do not think anymore, which room am I cleaning today? More often, I see floors look better. And that gives a calm feeling.
Pets and Hair: What Used to Be a Problem
I have a cute pet that sheds all the time. In the past, hair would gather in areas and stick to carpets. It is picked by the robot now during each run. Strands are no longer accumulated under chairs. I still deep-clean sometimes, but hair has decreased to a degree every day. It is such a little difference that seems big.
Less Dust, Less Allergy Stress
In our house, my sone is with a dust-sensitivity. When using a normal vacuum, dust is easily stirred. Sneezing was higher during and after the cleaning.
However, dust is kept at a lower level longer since the robot is running oftentimes and with minimal noise. Something is subtle about cleaner air. It’s not dramatic. It’s just calmer breathing. Harmless that is accumulated in days and weeks.
Nooks and Corners Don’t Feel Forgotten Anymore
Edges and corners used to be a nuisance to clean. The large vacuum was not always able to access them without touching furniture. However, this robot does not miss such spots. It edges close to walls. It sweeps around the table legs.
The small brushes on the sides assist in getting what is likely to be hidden in the shadows. I also surprised myself with the fact that I liked the way it takes me through areas I would have otherwise avoided.
Weekend Cleaning Looks Different Now
Weekends used to be scheduled for heavy cleaning. Now they’re lighter. I do some deep cleaning occasionally, e.g., moving heavy furniture, but the daily clean-up is not so urgently needed.
I may not begin cleaning at a particular time, but I may make coffee first. Look out the window. Then I feel, “I have left it mostly to the robot”. It is so much that routine has changed.
Unexpected Convenience
A vacuum robot does not require me to use it constantly. I don’t push. I don’t guide and hold its weight. Neither do I stop vacuuming in the middle of the event in case a guest is coming. I just left the robot to continue working. It invites some silent kind of freedom. A little steadiness.
It is nice to know that floors are cleaner than they would be with me working on them every day.
Not Perfect, But Worth It
It is not the magic machine of a robot. It does not substitute all the cleaning chores. Deep stain work always occurs using a handheld/manual mop. But it minimizes the noise of everyday clutter. Stick crumbs, dust trails, pet hair - they are not so much of a burden. Such peace takes a burden off everyday life.
What Changed the Most
When I consider what was changed after purchasing the Krapop robot vacuum, I cannot say it is the floors. It’s actually the schedule.
The stress around cleaning and the remaining time at the end of the day. There is no more putting off cleaning. Vacuuming is no longer feared. Rather, I open the door and notice floors that have been taken care of. This is a slight change that has altered the atmosphere of the entire house.
