A few weeks ago, I managed to knock over a full glass of red wine onto my living room rug. Not a small splash. A proper, generous pour straight onto fabric.
For about three seconds, I stood there watching it spread. If you’ve ever spilled something dark on something light….you know the feeling. It’s not full panic. It’s more like quiet regret.
Normally, this is where I grab paper towels…start blotting aggressively,… and hope for the best. Then I bring out the mop and regular vacuum. Ultimately, I wait for everything to dry and check if the stain is still there.
But this time…I tried something different. I grabbed the KRAPOF® Wet & Dry Stick Vacuum. And the cleanup was much simpler than I expected.
What Usually Happens With a Spill
Let’s be honest about how spill cleanups normally go. First, you try to absorb as much liquid as possible. That usually means pressing down with towels and hoping you’re not pushing it deeper into the fibers. Then you wipe, rinse, and wait for it to dry. You vacuum again because it still feels slightly sticky.
It’s a process. And it takes time. What appealed to me about this vacuum is that…it handles both dry debris and liquid messes in one device. No switching tools halfway through.
Step 1: Immediate Suction
The vacuum is cordless….so I didn’t need to look for an outlet or deal with cables. I took it off the charging base and turned it on. It has multiple speed levels, including a stronger boost mode. For red wine on a rug, I went with higher suction.
The suction power goes up to around 23 KPA. I’m not someone who usually focuses on numbers like that….but in practical terms….it means it pulls strongly!! Instead of blotting and hoping…I slowly ran the head over the spill and watched the liquid lift into the tank. It didn’t smear. It was removed. That alone made the situation feel manageable.
Step 2: Using the Wet Function Properly
After removing most of the liquid, I used the wet cleaning function to go over the area more thoroughly. One thing I like about this vacuum is that it has separate clean and dirty water tanks — about 0.5 L for clean water and 0.3 L for dirty water. That means you’re not washing the surface with water that’s already picked up grime.
As I moved it across the rug, it distributed clean water and then suctioned it back up along with any remaining residue. The rug didn’t feel drenched afterward. It was slightly damp, but not soaked. That’s important because too much water can cause its own problems.
Step 3: Cleaning Around and Under Furniture
Of course…The spill didn’t stay perfectly contained. Some of it splashed under the dining table. Normally..I’d have to crouch down and awkwardly reach underneath with cloths. This vacuum has a flexible pole that bends up to 90 degrees, which makes it easier to reach under the table without kneeling. It’s a small feature…but it makes a noticeable difference in everyday use.
Step 4: Switching Back to Dry Mode
Once the main spill area was clean, I switched back to regular dry vacuum mode to go over the surrounding space. The LED floor brush attachment helped highlight small debris, especially in lower light. It picked up a few crumbs I hadn’t noticed.
The vacuum also uses dual HEPA filters, which help trap fine dust and particles instead of releasing them back into the air.
Battery and Runtime
Whenever I use cordless devices, I always wonder how long they’ll last. This one runs on a 25.9 V, 2500 mAh battery. In Eco mode, it can run for up to around 35 minutes. In Boost mode, it’s about 6 minutes.
For the wine spill, I used a mix of both settings. It handled the entire cleanup without running out of power. For everyday use, quick vacuuming, or small spills, the runtime feels practical and sufficient.
A Second Test: Cereal and Milk
A few days later, I accidentally knocked over a bowl of cereal. Milk included. Normally, that would mean wiping up milk, picking up soggy cereal, mopping, and vacuuming again once dry.
This time, I used the same vacuum for everything. It suctioned the milk and cereal together, then I used the wet function to go over the area once more. No switching tools. No waiting for the floor to dry before vacuuming again.
Why It’s Different From My Old Vacuum
My previous vacuum could only handle dry debris. Any liquid means bringing out separate cleaning tools. This one combines vacuuming and mopping in a single device. That’s the main advantage.
Other practical features I’ve appreciated:
- Cordless design for easy movement
- Strong suction for both dry and wet messes
- Separate water tanks for cleaner washing
- Flexible stick for reaching under furniture
- Multiple speed levels depending on the task
It doesn’t feel oversized or complicated. It’s straightforward to use.
Conclusion
The wine spill could have turned into a long, frustrating cleanup. Instead, it was handled in one session with one device. The KRAPOF® Wet & Dry Stick Vac made it simple: suction first, wash second, done. No panic. No stacks of paper towels. And most importantly, no visible stain left behind.
